Idk exactly what to call it, but another thing thats good to do is force people to make their weaker throw. So if someone has a really weak forehand, force them to throw forehand, and vice versa.

The text below the diagram above says "In this example, the defense is forcing to the “home” side". But the diagram says "Force is Away".

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question, playing in a 5 on 5 indoor league and wondering what type of zone would be the best to incorporate... make the 1-3-3 into a 1-3-1? Any other suggestions??

Thanks for the feedback, danny. I've updated this page and reworded things a little using "check" to refer to a receiver whom the defense is "covering" or "checking". I'll look into reviving the glossary page that we used to have on the site.

"marking", in my experience, means covering the thrower. covering a receiver is called "covering". and "the mark" is the defensive player covering the thrower.
the deviation from general ultimate lingo makes this article very confusing to read.

Maybe another interesting defence to add: compulsive force. works even more confusing than middle force, and in my opinion it's easier for the defence. it's easy, it changes every time. if the marker doesn't shout out the force with force middle, the team has a problem. in the case of compulsive force, the sideline can yell without any problem. in the end, it's quite the same, but different :)
